I am New

I’M NEW HERE

WHERE AND HOW TO START

WORDS FROM FATHER RODOLFO CABALLERO

DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST,

Welcome to Prince of Peace Catholic Church! New Parishioners enable our community to grow and remain the active parish it has been over the years. There are many ministries and organizations at Prince of Peace which are here to be involved with your faith. Just like family, the Church is there to be of service to you. Of course, you are also invited to join a ministry or organization. It is a beautiful way to get to know parishioners as well as reaching out in loving service to others.

I encourage you to fill out the parish registration form and the stewardship/commitment form. You can fill our a registration form here on our website, or you may come in to our parish office to fill one out.

Once again, welcome to Prince of Peace Catholic Church, and thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the parish family. Do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of assistance to you or your family.

I remain sincerely yours in the  priesthood of Jesus,

Father Rodolfo Caballero

WHAT TO EXPECT

When is the right time to have the Anointing of the Sick?

Contrary to popular belief, the Anointing of the Sick is not a sacrament for those only who are at the point of death. Hence, as soon as anyone of the faithful begins to be in danger of death from sickness or old age, the fitting time for him to receive this sacrament has certainly already arrived. If a sick person who received this anointing recovers his health, he can in the case of another grave illness receive this
sacrament again. If during the same illness the person’s condition becomes more serious, the sacrament may be repeated. It is fitting to receive the Anointing of the Sick just prior to a serious operation. the same holds for the elderly whose frailty becomes more pronounced. (From the Catechism of the Catholic Church)

I'm in my 40s, can I still be baptized?

There is no age limit age limit for when you can receive the sacrament of Baptism. Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A) is a process which lasts for 1 liturgical year. For those wanting to receive Baptism, and are over the age of 7, will be Baptized, Confirmed, and receive Holy Communion at the Easter Vigil Mass.

For Adults, Please Contact Barbara Forde

For Elementary Children over the age of 7, Please Contact Rosemary Hernandez

For Middle & High School, Please Contact Ernie Castillo

I want to get married in the Catholic Church, where do I start?

For more information on the Sacrament of Matrimony, please call Deacon Leonard Cortinaz in the Parish Office at least 6 months ahead of time.

LIFE CHANGE STORIES

  • “Prince of Peace offered me many ministries that helped bring me closer to my Catholic faith. There is a true sense of family within the community, which is why my family and I have been parishioners for over 20 years.

  • I came to Prince of Peace unsure about my faith. I quickly came to love this wonderful community because of the love, warmth, and compassion that this parish exudes. I rediscovered my faith, and more importantly, I fell in love with our Lord.
